Easy to Make Tofu Steak with Lemon Ginger Dipping Sauce
Vegan, Gluten Free, Simple and Quick Way to Take in Vegan Protein
A must try quick, vegan entrée recipe! It’s super easy, using simple ingredients, full of flavour, and delicious! It can be a great post workout protein meal.
This tofu steak will be enjoyed served hot or cold. Great with a salad, grilled veggies, grains, absolutely anything! Not to mention the perfected dipping sauce. It’s a great addition to the tofu steak, bringing depth and freshness to your dish. Enjoy!
Makes 2 servings
Cook/prep time: 15 minutes!
Ingredients
(use organic where possible!)
- 1 350g package of Extra firm tofu (cut in two)
- 1 tbsp Sesame oil
- 1 tbsp Coconut oil
The Rub
- 1/2 tsp Himalayan Pink Salt
- 2 tbsp Black sesame
- 2 tbsp White sesame
- 1/2~1 tsp Garlic Powder
Directions
- Combine salt, black and white sesame seeds, garlic powder. (Grind slightly to allow your body to better absorb the benefits of these ingredients)
- Rub the above all around the two tofu pieces (keep the left over rub!)
- Heat up a small pan with both coconut and sesame oil
- Pan fry the tofu steaks about 2-3 minutes both sides or until nice and golden
- Take off the heat, set aside
Ingredients for dipping sauce
- 2 tbsp Tamari Shoyu
- 1 tbsp Lemon juice
- 1 tbsp Apple cider Vinegar
- 1/4 tsp shredded Ginger
- 2 tsp Sesame oil
Directions for dipping sauce
- Whisk all ingredients together!
Final touches
- Slice the Tofu Steak and plate with some greens, grains, vegetables, and dipping sauce. If you have any of the rub left over, sprinkle over the plated tofu for extra flavour!
