Vegan Glutenfree Warm Purple Cabbage and Apple Sauce

Vegan, Gluten Free- A great side dish for any meal!

Truly “buttery” with the natural sweetness of the caramelized onion and cabbage. The apple cider vinegar and malt brings depth and layers of flavours. Also great in burgers!

Prep & cook time: 25 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 onion
  • 1/2 purple cabbage
  • 1 Apple (any variety will do)
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp Apple cider vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. Slice onion, apple and cabbage
  2. Heat pan, add olive oil
  3. Caramelize onion
  4. Add cabbage,Apple, Apple cider vinegar, barley malt and sautee 10 to 15 min closed lid stirring occasionally.
  5. Add salt and pepper to taste
